I recently had the pleasure of meeting Randal O’Toole author of Grid Lock. He is extremley well versed on the transportation issues that are facing America today. Here is a Link to a short video. I highly suggest that you check out his website at the Cato Institute as well as other sites to educate yourself on the candidates and find out where they stand on the issues for our upcoming election on April 6th. Be sure to get out and vote!

After several hrs of yard work a couple of nights ago, I forced myself to sit and watch a movie…. this is very hard for me; to be unproductive, but I drastically needed the rest. So I compromised with myself by crocheting a scarf as I watched a movie. It has been years since I picked up a hook!! -6 to be exact.
Anyways, last fall at Art vs Craft in Milwaukee, I purchased some amazing yarn called SEA TURTLE which was hand spun by a woman named Heather Lightbody “Girl With A Hook”. So I searched in my studio and eventually found where I had stashed it. Mmmm just as I remembered; so beautiful variegated blues with a touch of sparkle. At first I wanted to get real creative and add other yarns and beads but as I started working with the yarn, I felt that it yearned for a more simple life.
With a dbl chn 1 dbl 6 across and repeat, I quickly used up the 76 yards for what is now my favorite scarf. I have enjoyed wearing it in this early spring weather.
Heather Lightbody makes some incredible ‘freeform hats’ that I just Love! I plan to be sporting one next winter for sure. Click on the large picture above to be taken directly to her site.
I had the pleasure of taking some pictures of the store at the open house the night before the opening…. I overheard Stan talking to a member of the community about how a store will take on a personality of it’s own. Stan remarked to the effect that it is dependent on the type of people you employ and how well you treat them. He has created 58 new jobs in the community.

I’ve been extremely inspired lately by the nice weather. I think the fairies have had something to do with that! Here above is a vintage cutting board with several found and new charms attached.,. The Fairies are rescued Barbies that I could not see going to the trash; they screamed ART.
